We stay in clean, family run hotels in the foothills of Mount Parnitha on Evia island. All have ensuite bathrooms.
One night we stay in rooms (without en-suite facilities), above a local tavern. These rooms are in a beautiful spot, at the base of a wild gorge , close to the beach and a real favourite, peaceful and quiet, with a sandy beach close by. Very occasionally 3 share a room at this location
Much effort (and pleasure) has been spent researching the quality of the food in the tavernas in which we eat!
Greek food is the order of the day, typically, grilled sea bream with lemon, an enormous variety of tasty vegetable dishes, fruit, salad, olives and feta cheese. Fresh yoghurt, natural honey, mountain tea, fruity wine and strong Ouzo!
