When booking your next cycling holiday, a key consideration should be travel insurance. Most reputable tour operators will not let you cycle without seeing evidence of a suitable policy first.
Reading the small print is always important when buying any insurance policy, but especially so if you are buying travel insurance to cover you on a cycling holiday. Some insurers will only cover ‘cycling’ on standard single trip insurance, however this doesn't necessarily cover you for mountain biking. Some insurers cover mountain biking, but not specifically downhilling, whereas others have ‘extreme sports’ top-up options.
