Do you enjoy cycling? The opportunity is here! Come and see us Saturday mornings 9.00 until 12.00, you can see what we do and talk to us.
Newport Velo has been selected to be one of only three clubs in the UK to pilot the "Go Ride Track Scheme"; we have been working with British Cycling and the Welsh Cycling Union over the past months to finalise the content of each course and now they are ready to go !
The Club has 9 Volunteer British Cycling' approved coaches and many other parent/volunteers involved. We hope to give all the young people who cycle with us, a good and worthwhile experience that encourages their passion and ability to cycle; supporting them in achieving their personal cycling goals and ambitions at every level.
We will introduce you to the different disciplines of cycling, there is no pressure to race or specialise, we just hope to see you enjoy yourself!
If you are 16 or under you don't even need a bike; with the support of Newport City Council and the WCU you can start by joining the bi-monthly, 8 week course in the Velodrome each Saturday morning, the Go-Ride 5 course improves your strength and all the bike skills you need to enjoy cycling confidently.
After the GoRide 5 you can join the any of the weekly club sessions depending on your age and ability.
There are many races locally and National, as your skill and speed develop you can enter these, youth and children's races are all held off road on closed circuits in a traffic free environment
