We are a cycling club first established in 1949 and based in Birdwell, an ex-coalmining village near Barnsley in the South Yorkshire area of the UK. Our membership catchment area also generally extends to cover the Sheffield and Rotherham areas, as well as some members currently living as far away as Falmouth. From the very beginnings of the club we have always been able to meet social each week in Birdwell, and this has helped the cohesion of the club immeasurably. Virtually every Friday night, throughout the year, there is the opportunity to meet with other club-members. You can give your club-event entries to Jan, pay your Subs to Dave, volounteer for jobs, arrange to go training, have your say at the monthly meetings and eat and join in the entertainment at the occasional Social Evening. Do try to come along as often as you can from 8:15pm onwards.
