Description: Designed especially for those of you who must jump things, drop off of things, and generally run into things very, very hard. The SteelSet? is the strongest headset we've made to date. The cups are completely redesigned and made of (you guessed it) steel. Bearing cap too. We like steel here at King. You don't need much of it to make something very strong. Absolutely the case with the SteelSet?. The cups press into the frame a full inch deep (that's about 3 times deeper than a normal headset cup). This extra deep press into the frame will help to protect your frameset investment. At our tech events, we almost always see a few very expensive downhill frames with ovalized headtubes. Most of them can't be repaired. That hurts. While this headset does not guarantee total frame protection, it will definitely increase the strength of this area of your bike a great deal.
