About Roy Jervis & Co
Renowned motorcycle racer Roy Jervis opened his motorcycle shop in the 1950's on the corner of Chapel Street and Havelock Street in Ripley and ran it until the 1960's when it was bought by Campian Bros. who were motorcycle wholesalers. A group of local motorcycle enthusiasts, Graham Clifton, Pete Clifton and Father and son Joe and John Walker, bought the business in 1974. The business was changed to Roy Jervis & Co Ltd in 1977 and Graham's lifelong friend, John (Charlie) Bamford purchased the Walker's shares. In 1978 the shop moved further up Chapel Street near the then Midland bank and was run by Graham Clifton while Charlie pursued his other business interests.
