The geometry, spec and even the color schemes all appear to be chosen by women, for women. The frame sizes go all the way down to XXS. The saddles, bars, and brake levers are women's specific. And there is no pink or powder blue color option. These are not girl's bikes, they're bikes for women that take their cycling seriously. The 2009 Contessa Speedster features a 7005 alloy frame with a carbon/alloy fork, Shimano ST-R700 Short reach shifters, 105 derailleurs front and rear, and a Truvativ Elita Road 3.3 crankset. The bars (Lady anatomic), stem, brakes and front hub are all Scott's own house brand, while the rear hub is from Formula (as are the spokes) and the hoops are Alex High Aero Profile wrapped in Hutchinson Equinox 700x23 rubber. The saddle is a Contessa VL 4134 O-Zone, women's specific. This bike consistently gets excellent marks for performance, comfort, and fit. Expect nothing less from Scott.
