Description: What TheCyclePeople say: Over the years, we?ve seen some really fun variations in mountain bike designs and components, including things like single speeds, and 29 inch wheels. Stripped to their essence, single speed mountain bikes are a very pure form of the sport. The 2009 Unit is no exception.
This 29er takes you back to the roots of mountain biking. Well, the butted cromoly frame and rigid fork do, anyway. Back then, we didn?t have things like Avid disc brakes and FSA cranksets. We had pathetic rim brakes that could barely stop us, and one-piece cranksets that were fine for beach cruisers, but prone to breakage at inopportune moments. These are truly some welcome bits of technology.
Available in sizes 16", 18", 19", 20", and 22", the Unit mixes old and new with excellent results.
