Description: What TheCyclePeople say: So you?re a little more advance, and want something more than a basic mountain bike, without a giant hit to your wallet? The 2009 Kona Fire Mountain is worth having a look at. It seems that the folks at Kona seem to be pretty good at selecting the right components, providing more value than you would expect for the price.
The Fire Mountain smoothes out the bumps with a Rock Shox fork with 100mm of travel, and stops great, thanks to Hayes mechanical disc brakes. The rest of the spec is mostly name brand parts, like the Shimano shifters and derailleurs, Ritchey headset, Avid brake levers, WTB saddle, and Rigida wheelset. Together, they add up to a quality bike at a very reasonable price.
Available in sizes 14", 16", 18", 20", and 22", it?s got a pretty inviting price tag for having such a reputable build.
